Globe Valve

We specialize in manufacturing high-quality globe valves with high quality and durability. We design, produce, and test each product in strict accordance with the standard requirements. As your trusted partner, we offer high-quality products at competitive prices.

Features of Globe Valve

Excellent sealing performance, Small contact surface between disc and seat, low wear, reliable sealing, suitable for high pressure or high cleanliness media.

‌ Accurate flow regulation, the opening of the valve disc is linear with the flow rate, which is convenient for fine control and is superior to switch valves such as gate valves.

Description of Globe Valve

A globe valve is generally composed of main parts such as the driving component (handwheel), valve stem, valve body, valve cover, valve disc (closing component), and packing device.

The handwheel is connected to the valve stem and drives the disc with the help of the valve stem, causing the disc to reciprocate along the axis of the valve seat, thereby connecting or cutting off the pipeline.

Globe valves have a wide range of applications,, mainly in situations with higher pressure and smaller diameters. Generally, they are only produced up to DN400(NPS16), and larger diameter are only applied to special pipelines.

For instance, for large oxygen pipelines, since other types of valves are prone to static electricity and fire due to friction, large-diameter stainless steel stop valves are adopted.

Although globe valves with dimensions reaching NPS48(DN1200) have been produced and put into use, the American Petroleum Institute’s guiding document API615 “Valve Selection Guide” describes the selection of globe valves as follows: “Although large diameters and high pressure ratings may also be appropriate, However, the nominal dimensions suitable for the standard globe valve with a pressure rating of class150 do not exceed NPS12, no more than NPS10 for the calss300, and no more than NPS 8 for the class600.

What are the applications of a globe valve?

The globe valve is widely used in the petroleum, chemical industry, electric power, water supply, heating, pharmaceutical, and energy fields of high temperature and high pressure fluid control, flow regulatio,n and truncation operation.

What is the difference between a globe valve and a gate valve?

The globe valve realizes the flow regulation and truncation through the vertical lifting of the valve disc, which has good sealing performance but large flow resistance. The gate valve is fully opened and fully closed through the parallel lifting of the gate plate. The flow resistance is small, but it is only suitable for opening and closing, not for flow regulation.

Why use a globe valve instead of a ball valve?

Due to more accurate linear flow pressure regulation, better high temperature and high pressure sealing, and avoiding water hammer effect, the globe valve is suitable for high-demand scenarios such as steam, instead of only being suitable for quick full open and close ball valves ‌

What is one disadvantage of a globe valve?

Due to the complex internal flow channel structure of the stop valve, the fluid resistance is large, which is easy to cause high pressure loss.

How to identify a globe valve?

The globe valve usually has a long body and the medium flow direction is marked with an arrow, which can be identified by observing the coaxial connection between the handwheel and the valve stem and the vertical lifting structure of the valve disc.
